Swiggy Instamart Appoints Gautam Swaroop as CBO
Swiggy Instamart, a quick commerce platform, announced the appointment of Gautam Swaroop as its chief business officer (CBO).
In his new position, Swaroop will manage Instamart's commercial operations, focusing on customer growth, category management, brand partnerships, and business expansion.
The appointment follows a week after the resignation of Hari Kumar, the company's previous CBO. At nearly the same moment, chief operating officer Ankit Jain also resigned.
Swaroop has over twenty years of experience in consulting, pharmaceuticals, and technology.
He started his career at McKinsey & Company, dedicating ten years to strategy and operations transformation. He subsequently became part of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, assisting in expanding the company's emerging markets division from $37 million to $190 million in revenue.
Recently, Swaroop held the position of CEO for the global operations at hospitality tech company Oyo, overseeing activities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, China, and Latin America, and successfully driving the business to profitability.

Swaroop's appointment contributes to a wider enhancement of Instamart's leadership team. The platform has appointed Srikar Adavi as vice-president of Ad Monetization and Hardeep Kaur as associate vice-president of Category (FMCG), along with several other senior recruitments.
