
Tata Consultancy Services Secures Order of Rs 2,903.22 crore from BSNL

For the development of the 4G network, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has obtained an add-on purchase order of Rs 2,903.22 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL).
According to the statement, TCS will oversee 18,685 4G network locations' planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and yearly maintenance.
According to a second announcement from the firm, Tejas Networks would provide TCS with Radio Access Network (RAN) and other equipment valued at about Rs 525.53 crore.
With an end-to-end indigenous stack and no reliance on international suppliers like Ericsson, Nokia, or Huawei, the Tata Group's IT services division and the government's Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) secured the Rs 15,000 crore mega deal from BSNL in May 2023 as part of the telco's 4G expansion plan. The original 24-month agreement period was scheduled to end this month.

The Tata Group's IT services arm, along with the government's Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), won the Rs 15,000 crore mega deal from BSNL in May 2023 as part of the telco's 4G expansion plan with an end-to-end indigenous stack and without dependence on global providers like Ericsson, Nokia or Huawei. The initial deal timeline was 24 months and set to expire this month.
