Thentia Adjoins Harry Cayton to Board of Directors

The ex-CEO of the United Kingdom’s Professional Standards Authority, Harry Cayton joins as a Board member of Thentia, a cloud based regulatory platform and proprietary technology provider. Harry served the United Kingdom’s Professional Standards Authority from 2007 to 2018 and brings in over four decades of experience in executive positions for non-profits and health charities as well as advising governments across the UK, Canada and Hong Kong.

Thentia ropes in the industry veteran within in a week of closing its Series A equity financing from the Business Development Bank of Canada's Industrial, Clean and Energy Venture Fund.

The company, which has a significant presence in the regulatory and licensure market, was poised to leverage the influx to further innovate its Thentia Cloud platform, and Harry could be a catalyst in the process.

In a statement, Harry said, “Working alongside them, you get to know an organization really well. I was impressed by the way they work. I know that Thentia has its focus on ensuring it creates IT for regulators that works for them, that makes their job easier and is cost effective.” He added, “There’s a huge amount we could learn from sharing anonymized data both for regulatory performance and to improve patient safety.”

Harry stepped down from his role as chief executive of the Professional Standards Authority in 2018, after some of the significant achievements under his belt like reforming the governance of regulators including the composition and size of their Councils, expansion of remit for the Authority including oversight of appointments to the regulators’ Councils, and the introduction of an entirely new form of assurance and oversight of unregulated occupations, among others. The 2014 founded Thentia is headquartered in Toronto is head by Julian Cardarelli in the role of Chief Executive Officer.
