Twitter to Enable Users to Offer Subscriptions for Content

Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, announced that users of the social media platform would be able to offer their followers subscriptions to content, such as lengthy texts and prolonged videos.
From a list of a la carte options that includes expanded text, long-form videos, exclusive tweets, and live dialogues with subscribers exclusively, users will be able to choose which subscription material they will offer.
Users should be aware that not everyone can use the new subscription feature, which can be found in the "Monetization" section of their settings. Only individuals who are above 18 years old, tweet more than 25 times each month, and have 500 or more followers are allowed to sign up, according to the website, which asks you to confirm your eligibility.
Users who provide the subscription—a feature they can access through the settings menu's Monetization tab—will receive all of the money members pay, minus any fees that platforms like Android and iOS impose. During the first twelve months, Twitter won't take a commission.
Musk stated that the iOS and Android payments will decrease to 15 percent after the 12-month period, adding that Twitter "will also assist promote your work." Yet, the creator has the option to leave the platform at any point and take all of their work with them.
If this all sounds familiar, as the Subscriptions function under the branding is effectively an expansion of the Super Follows feature, which was introduced in 2021 and allowed followers to subscribe to get artists' work.
The introduction of subscriptions comes as Musk continues to explore methods to boost Twitter's revenue as the company's value has fallen since he paid $44 billion for it.
To increase revenue at Twitter, Musk has implemented modifications after the social media platform's advertising revenues fell in the year prior to his on-again, off-again acquisition, which was finalized in October.
Since taking control, Musk has made a number of quick organizational and product adjustments. The company reduced its workforce by around 80% and launched Twitter-verified blue tick as a premium service.
