UP Government to Distribute Free Gadgets for Students Next Week

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath announces the distribution of free smartphones and Tablets for the students of the state by second week of December. The government said that it plans to cover 20 lakh students higher and technical education students in the scheme.

The government states that in first phase, they will distribute around 2.5 lakh tablets and 5 lakh smartphones. It was in October the CM Yogi Adityanath indicated that the distributions of smartphones and tablets will be done by last week or end of November.

The Student data should be submitted by colleges to the universities. Government also said that till Monday, 27 lakh student’s data has been updated in the portal. The UP government also divulged its plan to launch a portal called DG Shakti soon, where student can find the information about distribution of smartphones and tablets.

Apart from this, the information about distribution of smartphones and tablets will also be conveyed to students through their registered mobile numbers and e-mail IDs. The whole procedures from registration to distribution of smartphones and tablets will be free.

Government said that it has estimated a tender of Rs. 47000 crores to purchase smartphones and tablets. The government also stated that after keen technical examination and observation they have plans to open bids for eligible firms.

They have included the statement that work order will be issued by first week of December. Meanwhile, the consumer electronics giants including Samsung and Acer have already bid for the Rs 4,700 crore scheme
