
Volt14 Raises $1.87 Million in Pre-Series A Funding Round

Battery technology startup Volt14 has secured $1.87 million in its pre-Series A funding round led by Blume Ventures. Beyond Next Ventures, Spectrum Impact, Supermorpheus, and returning investor Cocoon Capital have also participated.
The round included contributions from Beyond Next Ventures, Spectrum Impact, Supermorpheus, and returning investor Cocoon Capital. The organization has obtained $4.02 million to date.
Volt14 announced that it will use the funds to expand anode production and enhance its workforce.
Established in 2019 by Animesh Kumar Jha, Volt14 focuses on creating battery technologies that feature greater energy density and cost enhancements. The startup focusing on battery technology has created an internal cylindrical EV-style battery cell featuring energy density with a silicon anode.
Silicon industry specialist Puneet Gupta, possessing more than 20 years of management expertise, became a member of the company’s board of directors in 2024. Yifan Tang, a veteran in the EV battery sector with previous ties to Tesla, Lucid, and Seres, has now come on board as an advisor to the company.
According to the International Energy Agency, nearly one out of every five cars sold in 2023 was electric, and the global EV fleet is expected to grow 12-fold by 2035

The size of the global lithium-ion battery market is expected to surpass $300 billion by 2034 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 15 percent, says a report by industry research firm Global Markets Insights.
