Google, the search and advertising giant’s annual conference this time is focused on AI, exhibiting a lot of new products and updates. It announced a host of new products and features, from AI Mode in search to Veo 3 and Imagen 4, to power realistic content generation.

Sundar Pichai, CEO, Google and Alphabet, claimed in the Google I/O conference in California that, with over 400 million monthly users for Gemini, Google now brings GenAI to more people than any other product. Sundar stated, “More intelligence is available for everyone, everywhere. And the world is responding, adopting AI faster than ever before.”

In his opening keynote Sundar said that, “There’s a hard trade-off between price and performance. Yet, we will be able to deliver the best models at the most effective price point… We are in a new phase of AI product shift.”

Sir Demis Hassabis, Nobel Prize winner for Chemistry as well as CEO and co-founder of Google DeepMind, announced an updated version of Gemini 2.5 Flash.

Google Search is undergoing a significant transformation with AI Mode, launching in the US. This feature processes long prompts and offers highly relevant results by breaking queries into multiple subtopics. AI Mode also introduces shopping with agentic checkout and a virtual try-on tool. AI Overviews now support 40 more languages and are used by over 1.5 billion users.

In hardware, Google introduced Android XR, built for the AI-powered Gemini era. Samsung’s Project Moohan headset will be the first under this platform. Meanwhile, Google Glasses with Android XR resurfaced, marking a decade since the original prototype.
