Welspun Corp Secures Record $1.8 Billion US Pipe Order
Indian steel pipe manufacturer Welspun Corp has secured a record $1.8 billion order to supply pipes from its US manufacturing facility, strengthening its position in the North American energy and infrastructure market. The announcement sent the company’s shares up 12.1% to an all-time high on Friday.
The order, valued at nearly one-third of Welspun Corp’s market capitalization, is scheduled for execution during fiscal years 2028 and 2029. According to the company, the contract will increase its global order book to a record $4.4 billion, reflecting sustained demand for large-diameter pipes across energy and infrastructure projects.
Welspun’s manufacturing facility in Arkansas has played a key role in the company’s expansion across North America. The facility is positioned to serve growing demand from oil and gas projects, liquefied natural gas (LNG) export infrastructure, and emerging hydrogen pipeline networks.
