Wipro Appoints Sandeep Dhar as the Global Head of its GCC

According to reports, Information Technology major Wipro has appointed Sandeep Dhar as the global head of its global capability center (GCC) practice.
Sandeep has more than 30 years of experience in the GCC ecosystem and consulting, playing a key role in establishing and expanding several prominent GCCs throughout his career.
The appointment holds importance as peers of the Bengaluru-based firm have created space for comparable positions. On April 1, Cognizant revealed that Sailaja Josyula has been named the new global leader of its GCC service line.
IT firms are progressively creating specialized GCC Strategic Business Units (SBUs) to take advantage of the rising demand.
As MD, he directed the evolution of Tesco and Goldman Sachs Consumer Bank GCCs into key hubs of innovation and expansion.
In his top leadership roles across sectors, Sandeep has effectively overseen P&Ls, propelled digital transformation efforts, and executed cutting-edge engineering methodologies. Sandeep will be accountable to Sanjeev Jain, the Chief Operating Officer of Wipro.
Sanjeev says, “Wipro has been a trusted partner to GCCs for over two decades. His vast experience in leading and transforming GCCs, combined with Wipro's robust capabilities and comprehensive suite of services for GCCs, will enable us to deliver superior business value to clients.”
