Wipro Gets Five-Year Application Management Contract from Fortum

Indian tech major Wipro wins an Application Management (AMS) and Services Integration & Management (SIAM) contract from Fortum, one of the leading clean-energy companies in the world – headquartered in Espoo, Finland. The agreement implicates that Wipro will now manage Fortum’s application portfolio across hundreds of applications for more than 11,500 users across 18 countries and provide 24/7 support for business-critical applications.

Wipro is set to leverage its novel Artificial Intelligence and automation platform, Wipro HOLMES to add value, in addition to its Service Integration & Management (SIAM) transformation solution. Fortum, however, looks forward to consolidating and govern its multi-supplier eco-system.

In a statement, Tuomas Salosaari, VP, Operation Services, Business Technology, Fortum said, “Wipro was chosen as a partner because of their experience and capability in providing a flexible and efficient solution for us. We believe this will be a true win-win relationship.”

Wipro recently had announced financial results of the second quarter of 2020. The group’s gross revenue was valued at Rs.151.1 billion ($2.1 billion1), which implicates an increase of 1.4 percent QoQ and a decrease of 0.1 percent YoY. Following which, it had also signed a definitive agreement to acquire Eximius Design, a leading engineering services company.
