The 108th Indian Science Congress scheduled to take place at Nagpur on January 3rd, is reported to feature, Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment, as the main theme this year.

The ISC is said to hold a mega exhibition displaying significant advancements, successes, and contributions made primarily by Indian science and technology to society.

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will be addressing the event through video conference.

Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, which is also commemorating its centennial this year, will host the 108th annual session of ISC.

The university's Mahatma Jyotiba Phule educational campus has separated the technical sessions of the ISC into 14 parts, each of which will host parallel sessions.

In addition to these 14 parts, the plenary sessions will include Nobel laureates, notable Indian and international scholars, specialists, and technocrats from a range of disciplines, such as space, defense, IT, and medical research.

The technical seminars will present innovative and practical research from many different scientific fields.

"The special attraction of the event is a mega expo titled 'Pride of India '. The prominent developments, major achievements and significant contributions largely of Indian science and technology to society will be showcased in the exhibition.

"Pride of India' displays the strengths and achievements of the government, corporates, PSUs, academic and R&D institutes, innovators & entrepreneurs from all across the country," according to reports.
