Amazon Great Indian Festival Records 100 Percent Growth in Orders

Amazon announced that the Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF) 2026 achieved its largest opening ever, with Indian customers placing orders for over twice the number of products compared to the previous year. The sale began for all customers at midnight on October 8.

Customers from all pin codes in India have already placed orders across smartphones, consumer electronics, fashion, beauty, home, kitchen, and daily necessities. Amazon announced this made it the most-purchased opening day ever in the history of the shopping event.

Millions of transactions were completed for customers in just a few hours. In more than 120 cities where Amazon Now operates, half of all products were delivered within minutes.

“Initial trends from the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 have surpassed our most hopeful predictions,” stated Saurabh Srivastava, vice-president, Amazon India.

"We have experienced an unprecedented 100 percent rise in products requested." "From large cities to the tiniest villages.Bharat prefers shopping on Amazon.in for unbeatable offers, a vast variety, and quick deliveries,” he mentioned.

Half of the customers made purchases using EMI, and one third of all units purchased received cashback. Prime members received savings exceeding 100 percent compared to last year, with exclusive Prime offers found on the widest selection of products.

Sales of premium Android smartphones increased by 70 percent year-over-year, driven by devices like the Apple iPhone 16, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, and more. Sales of the MacBook Neo were 65 times greater than on an average day, while premium wearables saw sales at 80 times the usual rate, driven by Garmin, Apple, Samsung, and Amazfit.

Sales of home entertainment surged 77 times, with TVs 55 inches and larger making up 65 percent of total TV sales. Luxury home theatre systems were sold at a rate 100 times greater than normal in the initial 12 hours, and sales of large appliances also experienced a boost.

A beauty product accounted for one out of every four items purchased on Amazon.in during the initial 12 hours. Premium skin and hair care saw sales exceeding 150 products per minute, which is five times the usual daily rate. Luxury scents were sold at a pace of 12 per minute, quadrupling the usual daily rate.
