Amazon India Enhances Infrastructure in Punjab

Amazon India announced it is preparing to address increasing customer demand in high-growth sectors like home, electronics, fashion, and grocery in advance of the Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF).

The firm has additionally broadened its operational network by establishing a new fulfilment centre in Rajpura, Punjab, which has generated new employment opportunities in the area, it stated.

The company states that Punjab hosts more than 46,000 vendors from various categories, including sports, apparel, beauty, and kitchen, offering their products on the online marketplace.

During this holiday season, shoppers in Chandigarh are displaying a distinct inclination towards high-end products in every category. According to the company, the home, kitchen, and outdoor categories have become a significant growth engine for Amazon in Chandigarh and Punjab.

These categories experienced a double-digit increase in both areas, along with a 20 percent growth in new clients throughout the state.

Chandigarh experienced an increase in demand for dehumidifiers (105 percent annually), air purifiers (45 percent annually), and solar solutions (30 percent annually).

The city experienced significant growth in fitness and mobility, as treadmills (70 percent YoY) and weight training gear (35 percent YoY) became increasingly popular. Meanwhile, two-wheeler sales in the state rose 30 percent YoY, driven by brands like Chetak, Vida, Ola, Bajaj, and Hero.
