Amazon Indicates Plans for AI Content Marketplace for Publishers
Amazon has indicated to publishing industry leaders that it intends to create a marketplace where publishers can sell their content to companies providing artificial intelligence products, The Information reported on Monday.
Prior to an Amazon Web Services conference set for Tuesday, AWS distributed presentation slides mentioning a content marketplace, as per the report, quoting two individuals who spoke with Amazon regarding the initiative.
The report noted that the slides displayed AWS placing the suggested marketplace next to its main AI products, such as Bedrock and QuickSight, while detailing tools for publishers to aid their businesses.
The advancement occurs while publishers and AI firms are discussing the regulations overseeing the utilization of online content, for both training extensive language models and for producing replies for users. Publishers have been advocating for licensing agreements that feature usage-based fees that rise in accordance with the frequency of their content's use.
