Aurobindo Wins FTC Nod for $250 Million Lannett Deal
Aurobindo Pharma's US branch obtained approval from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to move forward with its $250 million acquisition of Lannett Company LLC.
The acquisition, which will be done on a cash-free, debt-free basis and includes normalized working capital, is anticipated to finalize by the end of June 2026. The company stated in a regulatory filing that the transaction is anticipated to be instantly beneficial to Aurobindo Group’s earnings per share.
The pharmaceutical giant stated that the acquisition of Lannett is expected to produce significant cost savings, SG&A synergies, and operational integration benefits. It will further enrich Aurobindo Pharma's offerings with a distinct array of complex generics and controlled substances, promoting long-term sustainable growth.

The acquisition will greatly enhance Aurobindo USA’s product range in this segment and include a manufacturing site in the US within its network. Lannett’s production facility in Seymour, Indiana, can increase output to about 4 billion doses each year, thereby enhancing Aurobindo USA’s local manufacturing presence. This increased capability corresponds with U.S. policy goals focused on strengthening supply chain resilience and boosting domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing.
