AWS (Amazon Web Services), a subsidiary platform of Amazon.com.Inc that provides cloud-computing platforms and API to entities, introduced re:Post, a new community-driven question and answer service meant to help AWS customers overcome technical challenges, during its annual re:Invent conference.

The new service is part of the AWS Free Tier and the community of AWS customers, partners, and staff are the driving force behind this service, according to AWS.

"AWS re:Post is an AWS-managed Q&A service that replaces the original AWS Forums by providing crowd-sourced, expert-reviewed responses to your technical queries about AWS”, says the company.

The company explains that customers can find re:Post to be an excellent resource when building an application on AWS and face technical issues about an AWS service or best practices.

Additionally, it can also be useful for customers who are learning about AWS or studying for an AWS certification.

the company adds that, community members can earn reputation points to build up their community expert status by providing accepted answers and reviewing answers from other users, helping to continually expand the availability of public knowledge across all AWS services

AWS also claims that re:Post could be useful when customer teams are debating design or operations concerns on AWS. Lastly, customers can use the service to share their AWS knowledge with the community and establish a reputation as a community expert.

Moving on to browsing available content on re:Post, customers do not need to sign in. Rather, those who choose to sign in will be able to build a profile, ask and answer questions, and engage with others.

On the other hand, users can link their AWS certificates through Credly to express their interest in specific AWS technology and services by creating a profile. AWS re:Post distributes new queries to community experts based on their areas of expertise automatically.

During the re:Invent event, the AWS also brought in a new cloud-based data service that helps carmakers diagnose car issues remotely. Eliminating the need for customers and carmakers to take the vehicle for repair.

This service not only keeps an eye on safety and prevention of recalls, but helps in the management of related data on the cloud-based system, AWS IoT FleetWise, as well.

Back to re:Post, the company adds that, “community members can earn reputation points to build up their community expert status by providing accepted answers and reviewing answers from other users, helping to continually expand the availability of public knowledge across all AWS services”.
