
Citigroup's Commercial Banking Head Bhanu Vohra Resigns

Bhanu Vohra, Citigroup Inc’s long-serving head of commercial banking in India, has resigned after a career spanning nearly 25 years with the global banking major. He is currently on gardening leave and is said to be exploring new career opportunities.
Bhanu, who became a part of Citi in 2000, most recently directed commercial banking operations aimed at India’s mid-sized enterprises, delivering global banking solutions. Throughout his two-and-a-half-decade career, he has occupied various leadership positions in transaction banking, operations, and global markets.
His expertise encompasses both the Asia-Pacific and EMEA regions, prior to his return to India to lead Citi’s Global Subsidiaries Group within the Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory (BCMA) division. He has also held senior roles in Citi’s Treasury and Trade Services (TTS) and its Operations and Technology sectors.
His exit occurs amidst a wider leadership restructuring at Citibank India.

Earlier this year, K Balasubramanian, who previously served as the head of corporate banking for Asean and South Asia, was appointed as the CEO of Citi India. Balasubramanian has been with Citi since 1996, fulfilling significant roles across various markets and industry sectors.
Furthermore, Citibank has appointed Prashant Thakker as the head of corporate banking for South and Southeast Asia

Thakker will manage strategy and financial performance across Citi’s Asia South Corporate Bank, which includes local corporates, financial institutions, public sector enterprises, and global network banking operations.
