Delhi's RTO Visits to be Cut Off by New Faceless Services

Delhi residents can cut down their travel to RTO for vehicle-related documents like driving licenses, registration certificates, and the like, since the state's chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will introduce the transport department’s ‘faceless’ services. These services ensure that residents can apply for transport-oriented services in the comfort of their homes.
Renewal of a driver's license, transfer of ownership, new permits for goods and passenger cars, learning permits, duplicate registration certificates, overseas driving permits, change of residence, and hypothecation termination are among the services on the list.
An applicant can receive an e-learning license (eLL) by taking an online test at home or at work using Aadhaar authentication. According to the normal operating procedure for faceless services, the e-LL can be generated immediately through the URL provided by NIC.
Applicants who provide their Aadhaar number will receive an OTP to their Aadhaar-linked mobile phone, which will be utilized for e-KYC. Aadhaar-based document authentication and Aadhaar-based e-sign would be used to acquire the service.
At the Sarai Kale Khan and Vasant Vihar offices, trials for online learning tests have already commenced. Thus far, more than 50 individuals have received learning licenses.
However, upon hearing the words of transport minister Kailash Gahlot, it’s said that the faceless services do not call for spying on permanent driving licenses and vehicle fitness certificates.
With faceless transport services, Delhi might likely rise as the country’s first state to enlist most transportation services online. This promises a lot of time and money saved from traveling to and waiting at motor licensing offices (MLOs).
Surprisingly, it appears that Delhi is not the only one into these new services, but Maharashtra also seems to be experimenting with a similar concept as well.

The transport minister was seen tweeting appreciations to a citizen who had taken a learner's license test online. Gahlot added, "you are one of the first in the country to pass this facial recognition enabled E-LL test”.
The Delhi transport department, for one, has been working on making certain vital services available online since February of this year. Duplicate copies of driver's licenses and registration certificates, as well as change of address, foreign driving permit, and transfer of ownership, were among the services offered.
