d-Matrix Adopts Nvidia NVLink Fusion for AI Data Center Systems
D-Matrix announced that it will adopt Nvidia’s chip-linking technology to integrate its processors directly into the semiconductor giant’s data-center systems, as demand for AI computing continues to grow.
The partnership comes as artificial intelligence workloads increasingly shift from training AI models to deploying them for everyday applications, a process known as inference. While Nvidia’s graphics processing units (GPUs) remain widely used for AI training, D-Matrix is focused on inference workloads, where speed and low latency are critical.
D-Matrix’s latest chips, called Raptor, will connect to Nvidia server racks through NVLink Fusion, a technology that uses specialized connectors and memory to enable custom AI chips to work within Nvidia’s data-center infrastructure. The startup said the integration will allow its processors to operate alongside Nvidia’s systems while supporting demanding AI applications.
The Nvidia-compatible racks are expected to be ready in 2027, while D-Matrix plans to complete the final design phase of its Raptor chips by the end of this year.
