Digital lending platform Fibe and Canadian fintech-for-cleantech company Hygge Energy Inc. are joining hands to integrate digital energy infrastructure with loan financing. The collaboration aims to ease the loan financing process for rooftop solar customers, catalyzing the adoption of the country’s flagship PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana across India.

As rooftop solar adoption continues to grow across India, digital platforms can play an important role in connecting households with solar providers and financing solutions.

Hygge Energy has already successfully demonstrated the benefits of peer-to-peer rooftop solar energy trading in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Its digital marketplace enables rooftop solar producers and prosumers to trade electricity directly with other consumers, thereby enhancing the economic value of rooftop solar installations. Having established the infrastructure for a rooftop solar energy trading marketplace, Hygge Energy is now extending its platform to support rooftop solar financing in partnership with Fibe.

By digitally connecting customers with solar providers and financing opportunities, the partnership aims to expand customer reach, simplify access to loan and support wider adoption of rooftop solar financing across India.

By integrating Fibe’s financing capabilities with our Canadian-developed digital infrastructure for India’s rooftop solar market, we aim to demonstrate asset tokenization and loan financing bringing together digital finance and clean energy

Akshay Mehrotra, Managing Director & Group CEO, Fibe, said: "At Fibe, we are committed to making credit more accessible through technology-led solutions that address real customer needs. Our partnership with Hygge Energy is a step towards enabling easier access to financing for households looking to adopt rooftop solar solutions. By combining Hygge's digital energy marketplace with Fibe's lending capabilities, we aim to simplify the financing journey and support the wider adoption of clean energy across India."
