Eggoz, an agri-consumer tech company with a focus on eggs, announced that a Series B fundraising round headed by IvyCap Ventures saw it receive $8.8 million (about Rs. 66 crore).

The round also included NABVENTURES, Avaana Capital, and Rebright Partners.

Abhishek Negi, Aditya Singh, and Uttam Kumar, graduates of IIT Kharagpur, founded the Bihar-based Eggoz in 2017. The company says it has created an asset-light farmer integration model that provides food and eggs to large populations.

“Eggs being a major source of protein and a dietary staple for a huge section of India's 1.4 billion population, the market potential is tremendous. Eggoz, with its unique model, has the potential to capture this market and become the leader in this segment," says Vikram Gupta, Founder and Managing Partner, IvyCap Ventures Advisors Pvt Ltd.

Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, and other non-metropolitan cities all carry its products.

“With this funding, we plan to take Eggoz to more geographies and have a larger impact on the lives of both farmers and consumers,” says Abhishek Negi, Co-founder, Eggoz.

The firm claims to have expanded more than five times in the past year alone.

This fundraising round was joined by angel investors such as Vishesh Khurana (Co-founder, Shiprocket), Ankit Mehrotra, Sahil Jain, Nikhil Bakshi, Vivek Kapoor (Founders, Dineout), Khalid Qazi (VP, Swiggy), and others.

Eggoz ensures clients receive fresh eggs within one day via omnichannel, straight from farmers that follow a completely integrated business model. All of its goods are made with herbal chickens, and they are constantly inspected by technicians and veterinarians.

The startup will use the new funding to grow its clientele, hire more employees, and strengthen its local economy.

“With this funding, we plan to take Eggoz to more geographies and have a larger impact on the lives of both farmers and consumers,” says Abhishek Negi, Co-founder, Eggoz.
