Fiat Chrysler to Create a $150 Million worth Global Digital Hub in Hyderabad

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), an Italian/American multinational corporation and the world's eighth largest auto maker, announces $150 million investment for launching a Global Digital Hub in Hyderabad, which will create 1000 new jobs. Mamatha Charmarthi, Chief Information Officer, FCA – North Americaa and Asia Pacific in a virtual press conference announced that the proposed Global Digital Hub will be FCA’s largest center of information technology location outside North America. FCA ICT India will be operating as an entirely integrated part of Fiat Chrysler’s global team.

Mamatha further added, “The digital hub is being set up in Hyderabad in Telangana. Over the coming years, we will ramp up our presence across both Hyderabad through our new centre and in Chennai where we have recently expanded our engineering operations. It is my privilege to announce that FCA is committing $150 million in India towards the set up and growth of the new global digital hub. This investment will help create nearly 1,000 new jobs by the end of 2021.”

Mamatha also added that the Global Digital Hub will also start FCA expansion towards India’s rich digital ecosystem including suppliers, startups, and universities. This will accelerate innovation agenda. Welcoming the initiative, Telangana Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao assured all possible support from the state government’s side.

FCA will get best digital talent in India, which focus on the niche technology like connected vehicle services and data sciences among others. FCA’s major presence in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, with headquarter in Mumbai, employs 3,000+ people. Now, introduction of Global Digital Hub will help FCA in expanding its presence in Telangana. FCA has a joint venture vehicle and powertrain manufacturing facility in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. FCA’s engineering, and product development operations are placed in Pune and Chennai.

FCA will get best digital talent in India, which focus on the niche technology like connected vehicle services and data sciences among others.

Selling vehicles under the Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, FCA designs, engineers, manufactures and distributes other vehicles like Dodge, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Lancia, Ram, SRT brands as well as luxury cars under the Maserati brands.
