Former Xiaomi's India Division Head Joins Abu Dhabi G42's CEO

Manu Kumar Jain, a former CEO of Xiaomi's India division, has joined G42 as the organization's new CEO. The artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing business G42, located in Abu Dhabi, plans to grow in India.
Jain's nine-year employment with Xiaomi came to an end in January.
He joined the smartphone business when it was beginning to establish itself in the Indian market. He held the position of global vice president and was located in Dubai at the time of his resignation from Xiaomi.
Jain stated in his resignation statement that he would "love to build something new," ideally in a different field. He previously co-founded the online store for fashion and lifestyle goods called Jabong.
“We are thrilled to share that we will be soon expanding our operations into India, as we continue our journey towards becoming a global leader in AI.
Leading us into this new chapter of G42’s growth story is Manu Kumar Jain, a name synonymous with transformative leadership and ground-breaking success in the consumer technology sector," G42 posted on its social media handles.
Jais, an Arabic large language model (LLM), was released as open-source software on August 30 by Inception, a G42 firm.
Jain stated in his resignation statement that he would "love to build something new," ideally in a different field.
Additionally, G42 and Microsoft expanded their collaboration in September to encompass cloud services and AI capabilities.
The two businesses will also collaborate to upgrade the UAE's current data center infrastructure.
