Google Pay Introduces Six New Services at Global Fintech Fest 2024
On the last day of the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2024, Google Pay has revealed six new services for its users.
UPI Circle on Google Pay, UPI Vouchers or eRupi, ClickPay QR scan for bill payments, prepaid utility payment, Tap & Pay with RuPay cards, and Autopay for UPI Lite are some of the services that will be accessible later this year.
Google Pay's UPI Circle feature enables users to send and receive money digitally without connecting their personal bank account. Two choices are available with Google Pay for the UPI Circle feature. A user may first offer partial delegation. According to the firm, a user has complete control over this and authorizes each payment request made by their secondary user.
The option of complete delegation is another one. Up to Rs. 15,000 can be set as a monthly limit by a user, and their secondary users can make payments independently of that restriction.
By providing a prepaid voucher that is connected to their cellphone number, UPI Vouchers enable users to make digital payments. Recipients of these vouchers won't even need to link their bank account to UPI in order to pay for all of their approved merchant transactions using any compatible UPI app, like Google Pay.
UPI Vouchers, which were first offered to cover the cost of the COVID-19 immunization, have since developed into a payment option for a number of industries. To deliver this service, Google Pay has partnered with the Department of Finance and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
In collaboration with NPCI Bharat BillPay, Google Pay has introduced ClickPay QR compatibility on the Google Pay app in an effort to streamline and secure online bill payments. Users only need to use their existing, familiar QR scanner to scan a ClickPay QR code in order to pay their bills on Google Pay. No more needing to keep track of lengthy consumer IDs or bill account details.

With the launch of Tap & Pay payments for RuPay cards by Google Pay and NPCI, millions of RuPay cardholders will be able to make quick and secure payments with their smartphones. After adding their RuPay card to Google Pay, users can pay by only tapping their phone against any card reader. With Google Pay, card details such as the 16-digit card number are not saved.
Payments for small-ticket transactions or transfers have been made simpler using UPI Lite. When a user's UPI Lite account balance drops below a certain threshold, autopay for UPI Lite allows for automated top-ups. Now, users don't have to worry about running out of Lite balance when using UPI Lite.
