Absolute, an AI BioSolutions firm, has initiated commercial operations in Kenya for INERA, its agricultural biologicals division.

This signifies the company's expansion into Africa as a component of its worldwide strategy to implement regenerative agricultural solutions extensively in vital agricultural areas.

INERA has collaborated with a renowned Kenyan agricultural firm that has expertise in floriculture, exotic herbs, and horticulture to promote and expand its products in the local market.

INERA's launched initial portfolio consists of six biological products in two sectors — Biological Nutrition Management and Plant Physiology & Climate Resilience. The portfolio aims to operate at the plant–soil boundary, enhancing nutrient accessibility and usage for crops while bolstering plant performance in the face of environmental stress.

Kenya will additionally act as a hub for INERA’s broader growth across Africa. The firm is assessing extra markets in East and West Africa for launches throughout the rest of 2026 and 2027, while also expanding its commercial footprint in the US and Southeast Asia.

The action occurs as Africa becomes one of the globe's most significant markets for agricultural growth. The African Development Bank states that the continent contains nearly two-thirds of the remaining uncultivated arable land globally, yet agricultural productivity is significantly lower than international averages.

In 2024, the average yield of African cereals was approximately 1.68 tonnes per hectare, while the worldwide average stood at about 4.2 tonnes per hectare. The gap is generating a need for technologies that can enhance farm productivity without merely boosting input intensity.

Collectively, the platforms enable Absolute to transition from finding beneficial biology in nature to computationally recognizing and creating biological solutions for particular applications. In agriculture, the resultant pipeline includes microbials, peptides, secondary metabolites, proteins, and RNAi, which can be transformed into products for crop nutrition, biostimulants, seed-coating, and biocontrol.

INERA’s entry into Kenya is designed as a local business venture instead of solely an export-oriented model. The Kenyan partner provides connections with local growers, market insights, and distribution expertise, while INERA contributes biological research, product innovation, and field-validation skills.

The organization intends to collaborate with regional farmers and agronomists to verify products across various crops, soil types, and climate conditions while increasing its deployment.

INERA has established a field-validation network covering over 100 acres across more than 10 agro-climatic zones and reports having conducted over 50,000 field trials and farmer demonstrations so far. The firm collaborates with companies in agriculture, food, and life sciences, such as Olam, ADAMA, ITC, CropNxt, and Jubilant, among others.
