According to conversations at the Nasscom US CEO Forum hosted at the Consulate General of India in New York City, India's technology services industry will remain pivotal in assisting global companies in adapting to the artificial intelligence (AI) era.

The forum united Governor Matt Meyer, Secretary Charuni Patibanda-Sanchez, and CEOs of prominent Indian tech firms functioning in the United States.

Based on the discussions, the influence of AI on technology services must not be perceived solely in terms of automation.

AI is anticipated to enhance productivity and lessen certain standardized and repetitive tasks, but it is also predicted to boost the need for technology orchestration, data preparation, application modernization, cybersecurity, AI governance, agent management, and solutions tailored to specific industries.

The sector is reportedly experiencing this shift already. Almost 25 percent of tech services firms have transitioned AI experiments to production.

For more than three decades, Indian technology services companies have helped global enterprises navigate major technology shifts

The sector is producing an estimated $ 10-12 billion in revenue from AI services, with over 2 million experts proficient in AI and approximately 100,000 to 200,000 possessing advanced AI skills.
