India Space Congress to Discuss the Emerging Opportunities

Close to 1,000 officials and specialists from over 30 countries will convene in Delhi in June for the three-day India Space Congress to discuss the emerging opportunities within the nation's space industry.

Pawan Kumar Goenka, the regulator for India's space sector, along with industry leaders, will discuss topics like satellite communications, geospatial applications, deep-space exploration, new technologies, Earth observation, and strategic trade corridors.

The fourth India Space Congress, hosted by the Satcom Industry Association-India (SIA-India), is set to take place in the national capital from June 25 to 27, focusing on the theme ‘Pioneering Innovations in Space Technology: India's Journey Towards Global Partnership.’

"Country sessions will also bring delegations from Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, and the Middle East, highlighting opportunities for bilateral cooperation in capacity-building, joint missions and industrial co-development,” says SIA-India.

With more than 35 focused thematic sessions, the India Space Congress will cover crucial domains such as satellite communications, geospatial applications, deep-space exploration, emerging technologies, Earth observation and strategic trade corridors.

Conversations will emphasize progress in artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, quantum communication, hyperspectral imaging, and space-based biomanufacturing, along with emerging issues in orbital debris management, security, and international regulatory coherence.

In addition to IN-SPACe chairman Goenka, other speakers consist of M Ravichandran, secretary of the Union Ministry of Earth Sciences; Abhay Karandikar, secretary of the Department of Science and Technology; Shailesh Nayak, director of the National Institute of Advanced Studies; Kai-Uwe Schrogl, president of the International Institute of Space Law; and Subba Rao Pavuluri, president of SIA-India.
