Karnataka Launches India's First Quantum Ecosystem Map
NS Boseraju, the Minister for Minor Irrigation and Science and Technology, unveiled a detailed Quantum Ecosystem Map in celebration of World Quantum Day.
Q-City, a premier quantum center, seeks to unite academia, startups, and industry on one platform for quantum technologies. Conceptualized as a unified platform, it aims to facilitate the conversion of research into practical applications.
The roadmap details intentions to create a statewide quantum ecosystem, incorporating implementation strategies, milestones, and objectives through 2035, emphasizing scalable and sustainable development.
Speaking at the event, Boseraju stated, “We are the first state in India to introduce a Quantum Ecosystem Map.” Karnataka is already leading in this technology. Created by IISc, this map highlights significant technological developments and displays an ecosystem that is unmatched by any other state. We take pride in introducing such an extensive mapping initiative.
He mentioned that the comprehensive project report for Q-City will commence soon and be managed by the state's Quantum Task Force.

"The administration is concentrating on developing a robust pipeline of qualified experts." Karnataka has declared a Rs 10-crore fund to aid skills development, research, and startup expansion in the quantum field," he stated.
The government has also revealed that Professor Arindam Ghosh from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will be the chairman of the Karnataka Quantum Task Force.

Bengaluru, the world's fourth-largest tech hub with more than 1,000 global capability centers, is now extending this growth beyond the city limits.
"By providing equity grants of up to Rs 50 lakh to more than 1,300 startups, we have stimulated the venture capital ecosystem to invest a historic Rs 732 crore in just one day," says Priyank.
Bengaluru, the world's fourth-largest tech hub with more than 1,000 global capability centers, is now extending this growth beyond the city limits.

He stated, “We intend to enhance the innovation ecosystem throughout the state through the Local Economic Acceleration Program and a Rs 1,000-crore investment.”
