Karnataka to Enhance its Strategic Partnership with the UK

Karnataka plans to enhance its strategic partnership with the United Kingdom to strengthen artificial intelligence (AI) innovation, workforce training, and talent growth, aiming specifically at establishing opportunities for professionals, students, and technology workers.

The state's IT and BT Minister Priyank Kharge and the UK Minister for AI and Online Safety, Kanishka Narayan, engaged in extensive conversations on topics such as responsible AI use, data management, digital public services, and vocational training that can enhance job readiness for talent from both India and the UK.

In their discussions, both parties emphasized the importance of ethical AI systems founded on trust, safety, and common standards.

Central to the collaboration is the suggested Karnataka–UK Innovation Bridge, aimed at linking startups, research institutions, and businesses from both areas, while fostering organized exchange and incubation prospects for talented professionals.

The initiative aims to feature collaborative coworking spaces, dual startup initiatives, and alliances between centres of excellence in key AI areas, assisting employees and innovators in obtaining international exposure.

The partnership also seeks to strengthen Karnataka’s integration into worldwide tech value chains, draw increased investment, and expand job opportunities in developing technology sectors

Kharge emphasized Bengaluru’s position as a prominent global tech center and reiterated that the broadened collaboration will back policies, infrastructure, and initiatives that improve career mobility and competitiveness for the workforce.
