Global cybersecurity leader Kaspersky plans to significantly increase its investments in India, pointing to better-than-anticipated financial results and intentions to establish the country as a center for regional services, as per reports.

Adrian Hia, Managing Director, Kaspersky (APAC) states, “The firm is exploring the possibility of establishing its marketing, business development, and cloud operations in India to cater to both local and regional clients.”

After substantial double-digit growth in 2024, Hia suggested that the company's 2025 financial results, anticipated to be published in April, will demonstrate even stronger performance.

"We will keep intensifying our commitment, not just in hiring people and expanding office space, but we are also considering how to consolidate our efforts in marketing, business development, and cloud services, with a focus on India, aiming to serve not only Indian clients but also customers throughout the region; our investment has yielded positive results." Hia states.

He mentioned that if the company sets up a data center in India to cater to local clients, the number of hires would rise considerably.

Responding to the changing threat landscape, Hia cautioned that cyber-attacks are expected to escalate in 2026.

Kaspersky prevented more than 4.7 crore online threats in India in 2025, Hia mentioned that the easy availability of AI tools has led to the widespread and high-quality nature of threats such as deepfakes, emphasizing that it is now essential to "employ AI to combat AI."

"Harness the power of AI, No matter which country you are from, wherever you are, because our digital footprint today is beyond just one single device. The way that we use social media, the way that we have more and more services digitally, it is increasing the attack surface. So, is it going to come down in 2026? Unfortunately, no. I think it's going to get worse," Hia adds.
