MeitY Unveils India AI Governance Guidelines
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), as part of the IndiaAI Mission, launched the India AI Governance Guidelines, a detailed framework to promote safe, inclusive, and responsible AI integration across various sectors.
The guidelines were officially launched by Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, along with Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY; Shri Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY, CEO of IndiaAI Mission, DG NIC; Ms. Kavita Bhatia, Scientist ‘G’ & GC, MeitY & COO of IndiaAI Mission.
Prof. B. Ravindran from IIT Madras. Dr. Preeti Banzal, Adviser & Scientist ‘G’, and Dr. Parvinder Maini, Scientific Secretary, both from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, also took part in the event.

On this occasion, Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, remarked, “We continue to concentrate on utilizing current laws whenever feasible. Central to everything is a focus on human needs, ensuring AI is designed to assist humanity and improve people's lives while mitigating possible risks. He praised the victors.

Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, stated, “The core principle that embodies the essence of the framework is straightforward: ‘Do No Harm’. We concentrate on developing environments for innovation and on guaranteeing risk management within an adaptable, flexible framework. The IndiaAI Mission will facilitate this ecosystem and motivate numerous countries, particularly in the Global South.
