MSDE Partners with Shell India to Provide Skills Training in Green Skills

The ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship (MSDE) has partnered with Shell India to provide skills training in green skills and electric vehicles (EV), focusing on preparing students and faculty with future-ready competencies in green energy and e-mobility.
The program will be carried out by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), under MSDE, alongside Edunet Foundation, a training partner of Shell, across various industrial training institutes (ITIs) and national skill training institutes (NSTIs) in Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
Specialized EV skill labs will be established in chosen ITIs and NSTIs to provide practical training and expert-led workshops that meet industry standards. In addition to lab-based education, the program offers placement assistance and joint certifications to participants who succeed, boosting their job prospects in the green energy and EV industries.
Through the partnership, green skill training will be provided via a structured multi-level framework across chosen NSTIs and ITIs. The initial phase of the program will feature a 240-hour advanced EV technician course across four NSTIs, a 90-hour job-focused EV skills course at 12 ITIs with Shell-supported labs, and a 50-hour foundational green skills module at other ITIs lacking physical labs.
