
Namma Yatri Launches Welfare Fund for Drivers

Namma Yatri, a ride-hailing platform based in Bengaluru, has achieved city-level EBITDA positivity in its key markets, including the capital of Karnataka, as stated by cofounder and COO Shan M S.
“Our aim is to foster sustainable growth. In our primary markets, particularly Bengaluru, we are already generating positive EBITDA at the city level,” Shan M S mentioned.
He further noted that the platform has experienced steady month-on-month growth across various cities, including Bengaluru and certain regions of Bihar. The dashboard of the platform indicates that Namma Yatri has accomplished over 10.38 crore rides, resulting in earnings exceeding Rs 1,700 crore for its 6.13 lakh registered drivers. In Bengaluru specifically, the app has enabled 8.7 crore rides.

Additionally, Namma Yatri introduced a new initiative called the Namma Driver Welfare Trust for its driver partners in Karnataka. This fund will be governed independently, with 2 percent of the platform’s revenue allocated to provide financial assistance to qualified drivers. To be eligible, drivers must complete between 50 and 60 rides per month. The company is now aiming to broaden its services and invest in the digitization of public transportation systems
in cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata.
