Nykaa, an omnichannel beauty and fashion retailer, has brought on Ankit Jain, the former Chief Operating Officer of Swiggy Instamart, to head NYKAA NOW, its quick-commerce division that provides beauty and personal care deliveries in 30 to 60 minutes in major Indian cities.

The appointment coincides with Nykaa intensifying its emphasis on rapid commerce, an area that has become a crucial arena for beauty and personal care brands due to increasing consumer demand for quicker deliveries.

Jain comes to Nykaa following over a year as Chief Operating Officer at Swiggy Instamart. Prior to that, he worked for more than five years at Flipkart, where he occupied various leadership roles, such as Senior Vice President and Head of Grocery, Large Supply Chain, and Ekart Design. In the early stages of his career, he spent almost 14 years at Unilever in roles related to supply chain and operations.

A graduate of IIT Delhi, Jain possesses an executive management credential from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.

Introduced as Nykaa's rapid-commerce program, NYKAA NOW now provides beauty and personal care items from over 1,000 brands covering luxury, FMCG, and direct-to-consumer labels in 30 to 60 minutes. Since its launch, the service has grown to encompass 13 cities, such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, aided by technology-driven operations and increasing user acceptance.

Nykaa intends to greatly increase its service in the years ahead. By FY30, the company plans to expand NYKAA NOW to all major markets in the country, offering 30-minute beauty deliveries to customers across the nation.

"With Nykaa advancing into this next growth phase, Ankit will be crucial in enhancing the company's supply chain and fulfillment network to prepare for the future," the company stated.

In his new position, Jain will direct the growth of NYKAA NOW in essential markets by utilizing AI-powered demand forecasting and logistics advancements to create a robust, technology-driven fulfillment system.
