OpenAI Launches ChatGPT for Financial Services
OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT for Financial Services, a specialized version of its AI platform designed to support investment bankers, equity analysts, and other financial professionals. The offering integrates OpenAI’s latest AI model with financial data from sources including LSEG, PitchBook, and Daloopa.
Morgan Stanley and Evercore participated as design partners, helping OpenAI shape the product around the requirements of financial services professionals.
The launch reflects a broader push by AI companies to develop specialized solutions for regulated industries, where data security, governance, and compliance are critical considerations.
ChatGPT for Financial Services builds on the security capabilities of ChatGPT Enterprise, including role-based access controls and encryption. It also allows compliance teams to export workspace logs for integration with auditing processes, supporting organizations that require greater oversight of AI use.
The service uses GPT-6 Astra, OpenAI’s latest model, which the company said is designed to improve retrieval across financial data tools, strengthen financial reasoning, and enhance the accuracy of generated content.

The platform includes datasets from Daloopa, LSEG News, PitchBook, Crunchbase, and Quartr, covering areas such as earnings transcripts, financial statements, and company fundamentals. OpenAI said the information is organized on its systems to improve retrieval and citation.
