PM Modi to Unveil BSNL's Indigenous Stack on Sept 27

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the indigenous 4G stack of state-owned BSNL, marking a significant achievement that places India among the select countries able to produce and manufacture telecom equipment.

The event will be held in Jharsuguda, Odisha, with Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia attending in Guwahati.

Scindia stated that the network made in India is entirely cloud-based, prepared for the future, and can effortlessly transition to 5G. Tomorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch two significant initiatives.

Scindia adds, "Initially, BSNL’s 4G infrastructure is set to launch tomorrow at approximately 98,000 locations throughout the country. Every region of India will be affected. Our 4G towers and BTSs currently cater to 22 million users throughout our nation's entirety. Its entirely software-driven network is cloud-based and prepared for the future. And, most crucially, it will transition smoothly to 5G."

“We are currently refining it and will gradually transition to converting it to 5G as well,” the minister stated.

In conjunction with the 4G rollout, the Prime Minister will launch India’s fully saturated 4G network under the Digital Bharat Nidhi initiative, which has linked 29,000-30,000 villages in a mission-driven approach.
Scindia emphasized the wider importance of the launch, stating, “Today marks a historic occasion.

A momentous day not only for BSNL, a momentous day not only for the tech equipment manufacturing industry, but a momentous day for India and, I would argue, a momentous day for the globe. Tomorrow, the Prime Minister will launch and present an innovation that will be India's offering to the world and the international community under his guidance.

This marks a new chapter for the telecom industry, a chapter in which India has joined the ranks of the Big Four that produce and manufacture telecom equipment globally. Denmark, Sweden, South Korea, China, the four major nations and the five leading firms. India has become the fifth nation and the sixth firm globally to manufacture telecom equipment in history. This significant change was driven, led, and initiated by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
