PM Modi Urges People-First Approach to AI at G7
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the Outreach Session focused on "Ensuring a Safe, Rapid and Efficient Rollout of Artificial Intelligence" during the G7 Summit in Evian, France.
The Prime Minister emphasized that although Artificial Intelligence is a transformative power capable of reshaping the course of human civilization, it should also enable individuals. He explained that it was with this broader perspective that India had recently organized the AI Impact Summit. Emphasizing India's human-centric or MANAV [human] vision for AI, he remarked that the technology should be rooted in principles of inclusivity, security, and the common good.
Highlighting that India perceives cyberspace as a global public resource, the Prime Minister stressed the need for democratic nations to access AI models that protect their vital information infrastructure and assist in addressing cyber threats. He advocated for a unified strategy in AI development that simultaneously addresses safety, speed, and efficiency.

He praised President Trump for his initiatives that led to an agreement to cease the ongoing conflict in West Asia and reinstate peace and stability throughout the wider region
The Prime Minister ended by emphasizing that AI should enhance human potential, enable human choice, and safeguard human dignity, mentioning that India would persist in collaborating with partners to advance these goals.

At the same time, PM Modi met with US President Donald Trump during the G7 Summit. He praised President Trump for his initiatives that led to an agreement to cease the ongoing conflict in West Asia and reinstate peace and stability throughout the wider region.

He stressed the significance of preserving freedom of navigation and unobstructed trade in the Strait of Hormuz and the necessity of guaranteeing the safety of maritime workers.
