Quantum Computing India's Ticket to Global Tech Space: AP CM
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu stated that India is on the brink of emerging as a prominent figure in quantum technology, a development that has the potential to greatly impact the IT industry and the broader economy.
Naidu expressed that the Quantum Valley initiative introduced in Andhra Pradesh will pave the way for the advancement of the information technology revolution in the country. He stressed that this initiative will not only solidify India's reputation as a leader in software and services but also establish it as a dominant force in hardware and manufacturing.
"Technology is mature now. AI is a reality. Real-time data collection is a reality. The next level is quantum computing as it has unlimited capabilities. As of today, this is the fastest, the father of all technologies or, you can say, the mother of all technologies," he says.
Recognizing that Memorandums of Understanding and commitments for investment frequently garner attention in the media but do not always result in substantial real-world progress, the governor indicated that efforts are underway to enhance the efficacy of such agreements and establish measures to prevent insincere participants from participating.

"Only a few countries have taken the lead in quantum technology and we are one of them. The Government of India has announced the quantum mission. Now, we are establishing it (Quantum Valley) here. With that, our people are ready to produce quantum computers and get into manufacturing now," Naidu says.
He emphasized the importance of investment proposals including precise timelines and evidence of feasibility, with regular monthly reviews of progress being required.
Creating wealth through technology is a means by which governments can effectively implement social welfare programs, according to the president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He mentioned that Andhra Pradesh is uniquely positioned to adopt this approach due to its significant pool of talented individuals.
"Earlier, I used to say ease of doing business. Now, I am going for speed of doing business. Any investor, when he invests, he is expecting returns. Then only will he survive. If his project is delayed abnormally, then naturally it will not be viable. All hurdles I want to remove. I am introducing escrow accounts for all benefits or subsidies.
In response to inquiries regarding the current anti-H1B visa sentiment in the United States and efforts to reduce the program, he suggested that this development could provide an opportunity for India to retain some of its highly skilled professionals and noted that many of them are returning to their home country to initiate innovative endeavors.
"I have committed something for you, year by year. I will give you online with an escrow account. You do not come to me. This is where I wanted to promote self-discipline and also government regulation," Naidu says.

He emphasized that brain drain can also be seen as brain gain, noting that many entrepreneurs have returned to their home country bringing back valuable knowledge and expertise acquired abroad.
Any new technology, you cannot stop it. If you stop, then you will be the loser.
When asked about the potential impact of AI on job security, Naidu stated that it is more beneficial to adapt to change rather than resist it.

"Any new technology, you cannot stop it. If you stop, then you will be the loser. You adopt it, that is a game-changer. Also, search for alternative opportunities for employment in other areas. There may be fewer physical jobs in the future but mental jobs will always be there," he says
