Tata Group in Process of Adopting AI across Stack
Tata Group is working on integrating AI throughout its operations and is also planning to manufacture chips for various sectors, with the initial batch aimed at the automotive industry, according to Chairman N Chandrasekaran.
During the AI Impact Summit here, he mentioned that the Tata Group is developing AI capabilities utilizing the diverse data from India.
"I appreciate the foresight of our Prime Minister, which enabled us to make a significant entry into chips and semiconductors. We will proceed to create chips that are highly specialized for specific domains, fully optimized for AI for each industry, with our initial focus on preparing them for the automotive sector," Chandrasekaran says.
He mentioned that the salt-to-software conglomerate is integrating AI throughout the entire infrastructure, from silicon to systems, AI-enabled data centers to applications and AI agents.

"We find this vision and journey highly exhilarating, and it will necessitate collaboration with top global partners in India and beyond," remarks Chandrasekaran.
The group is creating India's first large-scale data center optimized for AI, specifically designed for next-generation AI training and inference.

According to reports, the Tata group is developing its products by utilizing varied Indian data resources built on foundational models, enabling intelligence to be accessible throughout the diverse Indian landscape.
"What we will do is to build agentic industry solutions for every industry. We are already well on the journey, and we will work with partners, to be able to launch it and take it to all enterprises around the globe," Chandrasekaran noted.
