Tata Power Joins Hands with DGPC for Bhutan Clean Energy Initiative
Tata Power on Monday said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) to create a specialized training framework supporting Bhutan’s ambitious clean energy expansion program.
The initiative is linked to the development of 5,000 MW of clean energy capacity in the Himalayan nation and aims to build a skilled workforce capable of supporting large-scale renewable energy projects.
Under the partnership, training programs will be conducted through the Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), Tata Power’s dedicated training and capacity-building arm.
The programs are expected to equip professionals, engineers, and technicians with practical and industry-relevant expertise required for Bhutan’s evolving energy sector.
Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Power, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to developing a future-ready talent ecosystem for Bhutan’s fast-growing clean energy industry. He added that the partnership would help create specialized capabilities needed to support the country’s renewable energy ambitions.
