TCS Launches GCC-Focused Business Unit for MNCs
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced on June 8 the creation of a new specialized business unit aimed at assisting organizations in setting up and expanding artificial intelligence (AI)-native Global Capability Centres (GCCs), in response to rising demand from multinational firms seeking to turn their offshore operations into innovation centers.
The firm has initiated the Global Value & Innovation Centres (GVIC) Business Unit, designed to offer comprehensive services covering GCC strategy, establishment, operations, and AI-driven transformation.
In conjunction with the transition, TCS has named Soumen Roy as the Head of TCS GVIC. Roy, who most recently held the position of TCS Canada Country Head, will directly report to CEO and MD K Krithivasan.
The announcement arrives as IT services firms are more frequently focusing on the rising GCC demand in their quest for substantial agentic AI contracts.
