iOS and web users can now use Twitter Blue sign-ups which has been brought back by Twitter Inc and has replaced it with a gold checkmark for certain business accounts on its platform. Whereas government accounts are said to get grey check marks.

Previously, the subscription service was launched by Twitter CEO Elon Musk with a verification plan, but halted it after several fake accounts misused it by impersonating brands and celebrities.

It was scheduled for relaunch last month, but drew back again and is now back this month.

Subscribers of Twitter Blue are said to be able to access subscriber-only features like editing tweets.

However, it is believed that the newly announced prices will be able to help in terms of offsetting the cost.

Twitter Blue users will have to pay an $8 monthly fee for its services and Apple users will have to pay $ 11 a month.

In a series of tweets, Twitter tweets, “We’ll begin replacing that ‘official’ label with a gold checkmark for businesses, and later in the week a grey check mark for government and multilateral accounts”.

Through this service, the microblogging platform says that subscribers can change their handle, display name or profile photo on a temporary basis until their account is reviewed again.

It is still under wraps regarding the reason behind increasing the price for iOS users, while its current CEO has been criticising Apple’s 30 percent commission on App Store purchases.

However, it is believed that the newly announced prices will be able to help in terms of offsetting the cost.
