Unicef India declared its partnership with SAP India on Wednesday. Through this partnership, youth of the nation will get counseling for employability and skill improvement in COVID and post COVID era.

This announcement was made on the World Youth Skills Day. Unicef told that it’s collaboration with YuWaah (Generation Limited) will provide digital education and employable skill set to the underserved youth of India.

This collaboration is focused on improvement of the digital skills and life skills of nearly one million youth by the end of 2022.

As on a video message, Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the mantra to stay job fit in COVID pandemic is “skill, reskill and upskill”.

Youth of the rural areas in India do not get the equal opportunity when it comes to employability due to limitation in information, technology, training, and upskills even when India is getting modernized.

The computer-learner ratio is 1:89 indicating the limited access in rural schools.

There is enough evidence suggesting that technology interruption can improve the poor learning levels, low retention rates and poor life skills, and gender inclusion.

Yasmin Ali Haque, the Indian Unicef Representative said that Unicef YuWaah- SAP collaboration will enhance creativity among young people and give power to them for solving problems, and making a positive impact in respective and society lives. She also said that the collaboration will instill life skills in youth and provide career guidance.
