The Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav, together with the Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta today inaugurated eighteen 'Namo Oxygen Parks' throughout Delhi and introduced a range of environmental initiatives as part of the national campaign 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' in celebration of World Environment Day 2026.

The gathering, hosted at Namo Oxygen Park, Maidangarhi, represented a crucial advancement in enhancing urban greening, boosting air quality, and fostering community-driven environmental care within the National Capital Territory.

Other dignitaries attending the event included Union Minister of State (EFCC), Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh; Minister for Environment, Forest and Wildlife (NCT Delhi), Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa; as well as additional senior officials from the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Delhi Government.

He remarked that with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the helm, India has become a global frontrunner in environmental initiatives, reaching significant milestones such as ranking among the top countries in solar capacity expansion, executing the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, founding the International Solar Alliance, initiating the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA), increasing Ramsar Wetland sites, and meeting several Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets ahead of deadlines within the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
