Wipro Is In Process To Find New Candidate After Abidali Neemuchawla Resigns

Bengaluru, India – 12, February, 2020: Wipro, a major information technology service is in the process of evaluating a few external candidates and two internal aspirants for the top most position after Abidali Neemuchawla declared his resignation from the company.

“The board of directors has initiated a search to identify the next chief executive officer. Abid will continue to hold the office of CEO and managing director until a successor is appointed for a smooth transition and to ensure that business continues as usual,” Wipro stated in a stock exchange filing.

According to the recent sources and news by Wipro in the know, there are some outside candidates being considered for the position of Chief Executive Officer that includes Accenture, Bhaskar Ghosh, Tech Mahindra, Ritesh Idnani, Infosys, Ravi Kumar and Nitin Rakesh of Mphasis.

Abidali Neemuchawla is an Indian American businessman. He is the managing director and chief executive officer of Wipro from 2016. He is soon stepping out of Wipro after they find a new candidate for the same post. He was also a group president and chief operating officer at Wipro in the year 2015. Before, he was the CEO of BPO division in Tata Consultancy Services.

He completed his bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication engineering from National Institute of Technology, Raipur and did his master’s in Industrial Management from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He joined Tata Consultancy in the year 1992 and worked there for 23 years. He as the COO of Wipro improved the response to the customers in the digital age and managed a deeper employee engagement.
