Amazon and Google launched a collaboratively created multicloud networking service to address the increasing need for dependable connectivity, as stated by the companies, particularly when even minor internet outages can lead to significant disruptions.

The program will allow customers to create private, high-speed connections between the computing platforms of both companies in minutes rather than weeks.

The new service is being launched just over a month after an Amazon Web Services outage on October 20 affected thousands of websites globally, taking some of the internet's most popular applications, such as Snapchat and Reddit, offline. The disruption will result in losses of $500 million to $650 million for U.S. businesses, as reported by the analytics company Parametrix.

The latest service integrates AWS' Interconnect-multicloud with Google Cloud's Cross-Cloud Interconnect, enhancing network interoperability, as stated by the two cloud providers.

"This partnership between AWS and Google Cloud signifies a crucial change in multicloud connectivity," stated Robert Kennedy, vice president of network services at AWS.
