Berry Alloys Commits Rs.1,200 Crore to Andhra Steel Project
Andhra Pradesh has sanctioned a significant manufacturing investment that reinforces its position as one of India’s rapidly developing hubs for steel and metals.
The state administration has approved the allocation of 93.43 acres to Berry Alloys Ltd. for a Rs.1,200-crore integrated manganese and steel materials facility at the Bobbili Growth Centre in Vizianagaram district.
The initiative is anticipated to create 813 direct employment opportunities while enhancing the state's swiftly growing metals value chain.
The funding arrives as India gets ready for a major increase in steel output in the next ten years. The National Steel Policy aims for an annual steel production capacity of 300 million tonnes by 2030, almost doubling existing figures.
This growth is anticipated to lead to a significant rise in the demand for manganese, an essential alloying component that enhances the strength, hardness, and wear resistance of steel.
Ferro alloys containing manganese are essential materials for manufacturing construction steel, automotive steel, railway tracks, defense equipment, and engineering products. With steel producers progressively utilizing direct reduced iron (DRI) methods to minimize emissions, the need for premium manganese inputs is projected to increase even more.
Berry Alloys ranks among India’s prominent ferro-alloy producers, manufacturing ferro manganese, silico manganese, and various specialized alloys for both local and global steel manufacturers.

The firm currently has manufacturing plants in Vizianagaram and exports to markets in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America, taking advantage of Andhra Pradesh's closeness to Visakhapatnam Port. It is additionally a participant in the International Manganese Institute (IMnI).
The newly established facility will combine manganese sinter manufacturing, a direct reduced iron (DRI) operation, and a carbon paste production plant, backed by a 115 MW dedicated power complex.
