Bharti Airtel has something in store for MSMEs, SOHOS (Small Office Home Office) and emerging tech startups and that is ‘Airtel Office Internet’, as the telecom major believes it to be a key solution towards satisfying digital connectivity needs. Together with the support of Google Cloud and Cisco, the telecom major has launched the initiative to accelerate digital transformation of small businesses.

Since digital connectivity happens to not only be the most stark issue, but also the most surprising among other COVID-19 enforced misfortunes. Even in developed countries internet access is often lower than they seem.

Airtel Office Internet is a comprehensive solution that integrates secure high-speed data connectivity, conferencing, and office productivity tools into a single plan and payment.

On a worldwide basis, only 55 percent of households have an internet connection, says UNESCO. It highlights that 87 percent are connected to the internet among developed countries, whereas the number is less in developing countries with a percentile of 47 percent. But it’s even worse for the least developed as the percentile stands at a mere 19 percent.

In total, 3.7 billion individuals do not have access to the internet. The bulk of them live in underdeveloped nations, where spreading knowledge about how to combat COVID-19 is critical. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), migrant workers and the economically backward masses are the most exposed to the virus.

Quarantine procedures have forced more than one billion students around the world to leave their schools. Even though teachers conduct daily online sessions, many of these children are unable to participate.

Only service sector employees and administrators have the option of working from home.
However, not all of them will be able to connect. Even still, the sheer volume of people utilising the internet may have an impact on their connectivity.

In countries such as India, digital connectivity is especially not doing well, and is currently about 45 percent, compared to four percent in 2007, according to Statista.

Ajay Chitkara, Director and CEO of Airtel Business says, "the pandemic has expedited the digital transformation journeys of businesses of all sizes”.

Upon such circumstances the telecom major has partnered with Google Cloud and Cisco to enable internet access to MSMEs, since they are the ones that struggle the most to keep up with the devastating situation.

Small enterprises, SOHOs, and early-stage tech startups will benefit from the enterprise-grade solution, which is focused on their rising digital connectivity needs.

Ajay Chitkara, Director and CEO of Airtel Business says, "the pandemic has expedited the digital transformation journeys of businesses of all sizes”.

He stated that emerging firms are searching for dependable partners who can assist them in their travels by removing the hassle of managing various partnerships.
