Bhavish Aggarwal Unveils Ola's Latest Electric Scooter Portfolio

Ola Electric founder Bhavish Aggarwal unveiled the company's latest electric scooter portfolio, introducing improvements in efficiency and power. The Gen 3 platform introduces a dual anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Ola Electric’s patented brake-by-wire technology, increasing energy recovery by 15 percent.
The new range includes a mid-drive motor, chain drive, and an integrated motor control unit (MCU). The S1X (2kWh) model of the Gen 3 vehicles costs Rs 79,999, while the S1 Pro+, which has a 5.3kWh battery and a 320-km range, costs Rs 1,69,999.
Bhavish says, “Each generation has had a major performance improvement, in cost structure, customer experience, and everything. Today, what we are announcing is not just another product, not just another incremental change, but a generational change in the product architecture. We hope that this moves the industry forward and pushes all our competitors to innovate even further for customers.”
“Ola Electric has reclaimed its market leadership in India’s electric two-wheeler segment with a 25 percent market share. Bookings for the Gen 3 models opened Friday, with deliveries expected to begin in the next seven days. Ola Electric said it will continue selling its Gen 2 models at discounts of up to Rs 35, 000,” adds Bhavish.
In response to growing consumer complaints about vehicle quality and after-sales support, Ola Electric has expanded its network of stores and service centers to 4,000 from 800 in November 2024
This comes after Yulu Bikes and other companies introduced two new kinds of electric scooters in November 2024, the S1 Z and Gig, targeted at gig economy workers and budget-conscious consumers. Aggarwal added that on February 5, Ola Electric will launch its Roadster motorcycle series.
