Bosch, Tata AutoComp form JV to Boost India's e-mobility Push

Bosch Ltd, a provider of technology and services, declared the establishment of a joint venture with Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd to address the needs of electric mobility.

The partners intend to maintain equal stakes in the joint venture, set to commence operations by mid-2026, pending the receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals, Bosch Ltd mentioned in a regulatory filing.

The partnership will concentrate on the engineering, production, and marketing of eAxle systems and electric motors in India, it noted.

The joint venture, based in Pune, seeks to enhance the adoption of sustainable and innovative technologies, thus broadening the regional presence of both firms in the e-mobility sector, according to the filing.

"Bosch seeks to utilize enhanced opportunities for its business in India, as it is the world's third largest automotive market. This intended collaboration with TACO strengthens our position in e-mobility, allowing us to provide innovative global solutions on the ground in India, encompassing engineering and manufacturing skills," stated Karsten Muller, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing and Quality, Electrified Motion, Robert Bosch GmbH.

"The collaboration with Tata AutoComp aims to speed up the use of these technologies by providing our customers with advanced, efficient e-Mobility solutions," stated Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director of Bosch Ltd.

Mudlapur emphasized that at Bosch, we are convinced that Battery Electric technology is the ultimate route to attaining low emissions in passenger vehicles and certain commercial vehicle categories.

Tata AutoComp's Vice Chairman, Arvind Goel, stated that India's mobility ecosystem is experiencing swift changes due to electrification, localization, and the demand for scalable technological solutions.

"This collaboration between Tata AutoComp Systems and Bosch Ltd combines their respective strengths in engineering, technology, and manufacturing to expedite the creation of innovative e-mobility solutions for the Indian market," he stated.

Bosch declared it has invested more than 6 billion euros worldwide in e-mobility.
